One of the tallest palmettos in NC?

I was exploring Southport, NC on google maps when I came across this large sabal palmetto growing among a few smaller ones beside the Southport Baptist Church.  It is certainly one of the larger specimens in the area.

That one is great size for NC standards! There are some massive ones on Bald Head Island that might be the tallest.  Apparently they grow much slower than transplants from Florida. BHI palmetto are distinct from Florida specimens This photo was taken by Gary Hollar.
