Archontophoenix cunninghamiana seeds sprouting after 2 months

In the greenhaus.  Picked the bright red seeds up from under a nice king palm near the beach in National City, CA two months ago. I thought they would never sprout and turn to gunk in the soil.

Hi Alex,

congrats, your on the lucky side of palm life. You can collect them fresh all around in your area and grow them outside.

Inside Europe you need to pay for all the seeds and need to keep them inside during winter times. Love to have your climate :winkie:

I was using the Miracle Grow Palm and Cactus soil to germinate my seeds last year. I never liked it because it was just wood chips. It would clump up. This summer I started using Miracle Grow raised bed soil. It still has a lot of wood chips, but is mostly soil. I add zeolite to it. Just an FYI. I know it's all personal preference. Good luck with the seedlings.

Good work. All the kings are easy to germinate.

Awesome! Mine is just starting to grow fast and is about to finish putting out its third leaf. At first I was like, "why does everyone say these things are fast?" But now I can see why. I also didn't have mine in the best conditions before, but it still grew. Archontophoenix cunninghamiana are one of my favorite species. If I lived in the right climate to grow them outdoors, I would probably line the edge my yard with them.
