Went to my seafood place and the owner gave me a mature coconut seed.

Hope it germinates. It's got water inside.

Comes from the State of Colima, Mex.

So it's a pacific Mexican tall.

The nut is huge.

I'll let y'all know.

It's in the "greenhaus". If something happens ex-husk, I'll let you know.

Being that free gifts are being handed out and Christmas is ~2 months away... LOL

Nice find, @GottmitAlex!  Going to look great next to the others!

It's in the outhouse bathroom. (Poor man's greenhouse) :D.

It has a south facing wall it gets hot in there. It's a sauna. With some water along side of the coco, it gets really muggy in there. At 10 pm I will turn on a 125 watt brood lamp 3 feet away from it.

Hopefully it sprouts. Who knows, there may already be a sprout but hasn't cut through the husk yet.

Storebought dehusked cocos are way much easier to sprout.  Here's hoping!

Btw, before I leave for work I take it out of the greenhouse and place it in front of the south facing wall.  Come nightfall I take it back to the greenhouse/bathroom.

I noticed the temps in the bathroom at night with only the 80w ceiling light on is 68F.  Up until this point I haven't had the need to employ the 120w brood lamp.

Here's the pic from today. 10 min ago. In centigrade.
