The Garden of Dorian Ouer - Encinitas, CA (Sept 21, 2019)

This magnificent garden was originally started by Dean Ouer, the current Palmtalk moderator, almost three decades ago. His son, Dorian, has continued his work since 2005 and has made many improvements and added a lot of new plants. From the moment you step thru the front gates, you'll find yourself immersed in a lush, tropical forest. Among the many species all around you can spot tall Ceroxylons, Ravanea glauca, Rhopalostylis, Archontophoenix, Pritchardia, Licuala, Dypsis species, and even the rare Dypsis "Black Stem". In the back yard there is a massive Hedyscepe canterburyana with its beautiful bluish-white crownshaft standing tall among many, many different tropical plants. Thank you, Dorian, for opening up your property for guests and allowing me to post the pictures here.
