tropicbreeze 733 Report post Posted September 21, 2019 Mine are fairly black as well. They're in very bright light but with a little afternoon sun more recently. They lost some of the canopy a couple of years ago and the replacement is a bit slow growing.
The Silent Seed 163 Report post Posted September 22, 2019 I always have a handful of these guys in the plant house - they are also often flowering throughout the year.

AnnU 9 Report post Posted Thursday at 06:08 AM (edited) I bought these in the mid 1980’s and have since moved then through a number of pot sizes. Until they reside, together in this pot. Bright shade, occasionally feeding and regular watering. I live in Victoria Aus near the coast Edited Thursday at 06:18 AM by AnnU Grammar error

palmfriend 1,582 Report post Posted Friday at 10:56 AM Hi, I bought these probably three years ago at our HD and planted them soon out in a bride shade and wind protected spot. Completely trouble-free and steady growers since then - a beautiful species! I am glad that I could get a hand on them. Never seen a similar offer after that at our HD. Best regards from Okinawa and @AnnU : Welcome to Palmtalk! Lars
