Recommended Posts

I have a few of this truly amazing form of Chamaedorea linearis for sale in 1 gallons. I collected the seed at 6000 feet in Colombia. Pic shows sample of plant for sale and the palm as seen in habitat I took a photo of.

I tested one outside in a pot through winter last year and it did great  I just planted it in the ground this summer so have no experience yet with in the ground through a winter.

$45

I could but have no clue how much it would cost. I can find a tube that fits the pot but shipping might be like $25 or so.

Len; is this the same as RPS 'Choco Giant' ?  I purchased 20 seeds and every one sprouted, growing really well !

Never heard of it. Googled it and says from Colombian Andes. So sure could be. A lot of variation depending on where seed was collected.

Almost $5 a seed. I need to raise my price :)

Just sent out 3 of these to 3 different states and shipping was $15. So I can put one in a USPS tube barefoot and ship.

Man those look cool! Wonder how well they would do inland.  I bet they need shade to look good judging by the habitat photos.

Another really interesting feature of this species is the detail that male plants (staminate) have multiple spathes on the same leafbase scar, while female plants (pistillate) have only one spathe per leafbase scar.  You can observe this in Len's photo, look closely at the palm on the right side of the image.

I have seen this in a few Chamaedorea.

Chris, shade for sure!
