Mystery seedling

Recommended Posts

Chester B

About 2 years ago I dumped a bunch of dirt and ungerminated seeds in a rubble pile. I was cleaning the area out and uncovered this little gem. I had so many different types of ungerminated seeds that I’m not sure I’ll ever know what this little guy is.  Most of the seeds were Sabal species with some Uncommon Trachycarpus species possibly other cold hardy species as well. Any thoughts??

Is that the seed there next to the large pebble?  Looks kinda like one of the smaller seed Sabals with its bluish tint (ie, minor, causiarum, palmetto, etc.) but hard to say.  I've got a couple of mystery seedlings myself germinated in basically the same way!
