Hi im repotting a big palm from a 90liter pot to a 130 liter pot,

1st how do you judge how much soil to put in the bottom of the new pot as there is roots coming out if old pot so how do you guys do this?

2.how do you lift this heavy palm and put into new pot with soil in by hand (i have no access to machinery and noone for help).

3.is it safe to repot this jubaea at end of august as autumn and winter is upon us.

4.what soil is best for potted jubaea?(i cant plant as private renting and its a small garden).

Just be aware that once the palm is in the new pot it will be almost impossible to move. I'd stop watering for a while to make it lighter to move and you can also measure the height of the 90l pot and then fill the new pot with soil leaving the height of the old pot up to the rim of the new pot. It might be easiest to tip the new pot on it's side with some soil in the bottom, slide the palm in on it's side and then tip the new pot up and fill with soil. I'm only guessing with these suggestions and I'm sure some people on here have actually done this so hear what others say.
