I planted a Sabal for my boy Vance. My newest addition is Layla and her latania.

Thank you for posting!

If this thread is going to be similar to the one with the Sabal, it is going to be mind blowing!

I am honestly wishing you and your family all the best!

Best regards from Okinawa -

Lars

Awwww. Layla is adorable. And yellow Latan is my favorite Latania. Happy Father's Day, Dad.

Congrats steve i think Layla will  grow much faster than the latania .This is an awesome genus  you rarely see in SD not as rare as layla though. Nice size plant you scored .Mine has been growing good albeit slow it is the red form there is a yellow one in. My neighborhood  that is about 5 ft overall cheers

What a cutie you're holding there Steve. A few years back I tried a Latania, killed it, and assumed it was too cold around here. After seeing numerous ones growing well (even in my 'hood) I'm trying again. So far, so good. Yours is way cool looking.

Thanks guys, This is the red form. Ive had it for a while and put it in the ground when we found out we were having her. Im a little nervous about planting a marginal palm for her so I planted a spider lily as a back up.
