Garden Overview
Chas and Gordana bought the house in 2000, and after some minor renovation started the garden in the spring of 2002. These early palm trees are easy to tell by their size and by all being very safe in Palo Alto winters. The only exception being a triple King that now towers well above the house. This “success,” particularly given some winters on the cold side, encouraged us to be much more daring starting in about 2012. As a result, the garden now has a definitely tropical look. It features 123 palm trees of which 53 are different ones.

Chas and Gordana have provided a plan of their garden to whet your appetite on what to expect.

Auction and Potluck: We have a potluck so please bring a dish to share. Please feel welcome to bring your own favorite beverage. We usually have soft drinks, beer and wine.

There will be an auction after the tour, led by Chas, of the garden. Members – please bring a plant or two for the auction. We anticipate several new members will be joining us and they will appreciate being able to bid on some of the more exotic and unusual palms not usually available in the nurseries.
