Raphis Laoensis vs R. Hooper species- maximum height?

I just cut down a very large section of Raphis Multifida x R. Humilis.  It got invasive, and too tall, blocking light for my other palms,  This was one of my first palms.  It had excellent frost tolerance down to 23 F, and was beautiful, but, finally, had to go, to make my other palms healthy.

Does anyone know the maximum heighth  between the R. Hooper type and R. Laoensis, and possible frost tolerance info? I would like to get a shorter replacement.

Also, as an aside, this is one muther trying to get it out.  I tried digging with a sharp trenching shovel, Sawz-All, nothing cut cut them all out.  I have resorted to cutting the canes down to the bulbous portion, and drilling large holes, and I have about 40 stumps, and using a 70% Roundup.  I have been putting this in weekly, and hoping by next Fall, the roots will be dead and perhaps softer.  Does anybody have a better idea?

Also, I have a small 2' R. Multifida with only a couple of offsets that is fairly stretched because it is in the shade.  What is the hope of survival if I dug that one out and moved it? I have been told Raphis like to "sulk", and don't die, but, take forever to start to recharge their batteries and grow.

Thanks for reading, and hope someone has some experience to help.

Cecile
