How time flies...

Can't believe how fast it is now.  I get 3 fronds a year.

Nice work Joe.  I haven't seen growth like that with any of mine.  The biggest one I have is similar in age based on your start point, and how big mine was in late 2009/2010, but its not nearly the size of yours now (photo below is from November 2018).  What is your secret, or more likely what am I doing wrong?

LOTS of water, and moderate So-Cal beachy temps are the way to go.

My specimens rival Joe's, but not quite match.

Is that a hookeri?  I have one that is super slow because it was grown in the shade and took several years to acclimate.  I had a one gallon hookeri that I planted out that was a rocket.

When I first planted my palms, I mulched with organic horse manure mulch for several years.  It completely changed my soil.  I think that made a huge difference.

My two hookeri are by far the slowest of my  Chambeyronia,, but have the showiest red new leaf,   I have one regular all green one and it is fat and fast, watermelons a bit slower, and seeding heavily , all a strong  and easy grow here in Honolulu.  A great landscape palm here.

Nice looking ones Joe and Tracy. Good to see them doing well in CA.
