That’s awesome. Such a beautiful red color to it. I wish D. Lastelliana did better where I lived but D. Lepticheilos is a much better grower for me. Lastelliana doesn’t do as well but I sure wish it did. Congrats on your beautiful palm.

That is really nice red coloring on your palm tree. Thanks for sharing some beautiful pictures of your palm.   I think I’m going to have to put that one on a list of palms I would love to have in my garden.

Hey Kevin, I believe you are here on the Big Island, right?  If so, Bill Austin has a good sized 7 gallon Dypsis Lastelliana available at his place. Or if you want bigger then I would recommend checking out the Bob Davis Palm Nursery about 9 miles north of Hilo. He has huge 15 gallons.

Bill is in my neighborhood I drive down road 8 and pass by his place. I really in joyed seeing his garden on one of my visits. My main problem is I only have a inch or 2 of soil so I prefer smaller pots less soil I need to bring in.  I really want to visit his place again soon and do some shopping.

Nice!  Floribunda has some 1 gallons so maybe go that route.

They are slow here too. Mine has been planted about 8 years and I still cant detect any color. I think they do speed up once a trunk is formed.

Beautiful! Mine seems a little less red than yours when a leaf comes off but here it is growing at a decent speed here in SW Florida

Thanks everyone. It was a one gallon from Floribunda. I would assume offspring from his

mature ones there.  Unfortunately the intense red only lasts like a week or so, but its nice.
