cisco 193 Report post Posted March 29, 2019 What is happening here? Can it be? Does my tallest Howea forsteriana start trunking? He is about 12 years old. A year ago, I separated them 3 to 1 pot. Since then it has strengthened and grown faster than ever.

PalmatierMeg 5,681 Report post Posted March 31, 2019 Looks like its trunking. Lovely well grown palm. They are very slow growing. I got mine as a germinated seed in 2004. It is planted deep in my jungle and finally has 1/2 meter of trunk. I've always loved this species even though it is not suited for my hot sweltering summers. But in the jungle temps stay 10-15 degrees F cooler in summer.
