Germinating Raphia seeds..?

I was wondering if anyone would share their methods for germinating this genus and any other calamoid type of seeds-thanks in advance!

I have found that these seeds like to germinate during high heat and water situations. I would place the pointy side up in a community pot just over half buried in an inorganic media that retains a lot of water such as porous rock, XXL perlite, something like that. Put them in the sun and let them get above 90F while keeping them moist. This will mimic most species' habitats - sandy/rocky exposed riverbanks. This doesn't seem to work with more tropical rainforest calamoid species such as Metroxylon though, they will want shade and rich soil with 80s Fahrenheit. The rattans like it somewhere in between.

Let me know how these seeds work out for you.
