Its that time of the year to start planting new plants, finally :rolleyes:

Few days ago i got this 40yr old cycas, some neighbour want to cut it so ask me nicely if i am interested and will i come to digg it for free :D

and today arrived from mypalmshop nice parajubaea tvt...when they are this big it is clear why they call it mountain cocos, pure tropic looking palm...

That's a great find and rescue!  I dug up 3 big Revoluta from a friend, one has about 5 feet of trunk, the other two are 3 feet.  Around here you can find people trying to give away big sagos due to the scale infestation, but it's not too tough to keep the scale away.  My neighbor dug up and tossed 3 big ones that were heavily infested.  I was able to save two of them with a combination of Dinotefuran soil drench, foliar spray of Malathion and Acephate and lots of coffee grounds at the base.  :D

Funny thing, I am contemplating giving away a large sago myself. I have them flanking my front steps. One of them has never recovered from the 18 F freeze last year. So now I have a lopsided arrangement. My sago has about 4 feet of trunk. Maybe I should post pics of the “dead” one and see if y’all think it has a chance.

Yea, we had few almost 10a winter so everything is growing nice...p tvt not so much but its getting thicker, its hard to picture it whole but here...
