A February to remembrrr in L.A.: It never even reached 70 degrees

For the first time since forecasters began recording data — at least 132 years — the mercury did not reach 70 degrees in downtown Los Angeles for the entire month of February.

And still no 70s in sight with lots of low 60s next week! This winter will be remembered for decades.

Elsewhere in California, fields of poppies already.  Or floods.  Or enough snow to ensure the whitewater outfitters should have a busy season.

Don’t feel bad, I didn’t reach 70 either.

February only got as high as 64 for me.

Damn. It even reached 70F on 3 separate days here in England, with record highs being set on 3 back to back days. It was also our warmest February on record, by both average temperature and average high temperature.

We got to 77 here one day. A few more in the low 70s. But then it went back to 40s and 50s... hopefully now that it is March the warmth will start to return.

Right. We're used to having 80's as our highs in the last two weeks of Feb... Not this year.

Same. We've had a very long string of mid-50s to just recently breaking 60F this last week. After this next rain storm, the forecast finally calls for temps above 65F. In general, we are about 10 degrees cooler than the LA basin during winter.

While we didn't get any major cold snaps on the Texas gulf coast this winter it did seem to be cooler than normal overall. Even in March. It definitely was a wetter winter than normal.

Is anyone EVER happy with the weather in California?

If it rains, it's horrible. if it doesn't, it's horrible. If it's hot, it's horrible. If it's cold, it's horrible.
