Today marks the 231st anniversary of European discovery of Lord Howe Island, one of the most excellent places I have visited during my world travels.  TassieTroy (Troy Donovan) and I visited, our only mistake was not staying for a longer period !  Here is a link about this very special place...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Howe_Island

Here is an image of the island flag and a few photos of the island.  I would encourage everyone to visit this place, I plan to return, and to do the Mount Gower hike TWICE !

Great images Darold!  While I, myself, may never visit Lord Howe Island in person, at least I am enjoying two of its native palms: Howea fosteriana and H. belmoreana. ;)
