Visiting the Canary Islands 11 years later! Palmetum of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 2019!

I had the privilege of going to the Canary Islands when I was 18 years old and working with palmtalk's Carlo Morici! Well, 11 years later, I finally had the chance to return. It's incredible how much the Palmetum has developed in such a short time and how extensive their collection is! Carlo was my host again, and it was such a blast. Thank you!

Here are some photos from the trip, and for the complete album, you can click here: Click here for all of the photos from Tenerife

Anywhere that can grow mature Jubaea and Coconuts in the same garden has an ideal climate! :greenthumb:

Hey Kyle, thanks for the photos! It's been quite a few years since I visited and the palms have grown. :)  I remember Tenerife fondly, and you are so fortunate to visit. Grateful for the photos, thanks! That pic of El Teide is a stunner!

I went there about 15 years ago, to the same botanical garden.  At the time I wasn't too interested in palms, but I saw this one in my ~1500 pictures. Any idea what it is?  It sort of looks like a Butia, but not a Odorata?  The leaflets look almost like a Sylvester, but I've never seen one that silver-blue.  Mark me as confused, but I want one!

Thank you for the comments! It's such a special place to grow palms. It's incredible how a place can grow Ceroxylon, Cyrtostachys, Jubaea, and Pelagodoxa.
