A couple of "rumors":

1) Jeff Marcus had a seedling that died.

2) The government of Mauritius has the few existing palms penned up with pigs that eat the seeds and will not allow any to be collected.

I'm in the market if any plants/seeds become available.

Steve,

I assume, based on what I've read, that few if any are in cultivation. Olivier on this forum had an excellent thread on this palm & Hyophorbe vaugnii a few years back. They're both great looking palms. I've always been meaning to ask Jeff Markus if he's been offered any.

Don’t wanna hijack the thread :/ , but does anyone know if someone’s growing Hyopborbe indica? Was curious about them and thought they were something uncommon in a regular ‘ol SFL yard... do they like it down here?
