Here's some before & after pics of my Dypsis madagascariensis  'mahajanga' which has turned out to be quite a quick grower.

Very impressive growth.  I recall reading there is a good deal of variation in the complex.  I had one that I ended up pulling out because it was soooo sloooow:beat_deadhorse:.  I have another in the ground that I keep threatening to yank out for the same reason and then it gives me a sign of growth, so I turn into a softie again, allowing it another reprieve.   I wish I had got mine from the same source as yours, but then again, this species may just do better in your climate and soil than mine.  Nice job with it!
