Eric in Orlando

Very ornamental Phoenix hybrid specimen

Recommended Posts

Eric in Orlando

I was coming home last night from West Palm Beach and stopped at the Ft. Drum rest stop along the Florida Turnpike. There is a very handsome Phoenix hybrid growing by the entrance. Nice green leaves and bright orange infructescence. Also a more slender trunk.

It looks like it has Rupicola as one of the parents.

In that lonesome drive, it seems that you see some interesting Phoenix specimens in that area for reasons unknown (Ft. Drum area).I have also noticed more than a few wild boar in that area eating grass with no fear of traffic! Big and agile animals in the 300-400 pound weight class.

That is a spectacular Phoenix specimen pictured and I will be looking forward to viewing it on my next sojourn. It is an awesome hybrid brought to us by Eric. What would we do without Eric?
