November as a whole has been beautiful here in Orlando with cool and a few downright chilly mornings and pleasant days, sometimes even sweater weather.  We have a warm weekend in store followed by a chilly start to the week.  The summer months are brutal but the rest of the year this really is a great place to live.  Mid 70s and sunny right now.

Enjoyed my time out your way (Las Vegas, Moapa Valley, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon).  I was kind of dreading those few days in the 50s but I was remarkably comfortable with only a sweatshirt.

I was wondering how it was. I remembered November. Did you get to see the Moapa filifera stands?

I got to see a few of the filifera there (I think these were planted) but didn't get to stop and nose around in the native stands south of I-15.  I did manage to find the parent filifera of my little brood just off of I-15 in Glendale.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to our neck of the woods! I agree, nothing quite like the dry, radial heat. 50 is pleasant here.

Currently 30F at 1am here and experiencing a radiation frost tonight, after clear, sunny skies all day without a single cloud in the sky. This is the first frost in nearly 4 weeks and only the 3rd frost of the cooler period, after multiple nights in the 50s F.

We maxed out at 52F but the clear skies have allowed the temperature to drop away massively tonight. This is not the result of cold weather, but rather the clear skies. I'm expecting a low of 28F here by sunrise, potentially, depending on cloud cover as the night progresses. Nothing too severe though.

Both regular Queen palm and the Santa Catarina/Lotoris variety are still actively putting out growth here though, and have not incurred any kind of damage. Chamberyonia Macrocarpia is also untouched as of yet and still putting out growth. All Phoenix's and Washingtonia are still actively growing as well still. As are my 2 Royals surprisingly.

Odd night in Tampa. 60f at UT, but 50f in Beach Park. :hmm: The temperature variance in the area doesn’t seem to follow any logic tonight. How the heck is USF one of the warmer places tonight? lol

USF, UT and other sites are still recording strangely warm readings. I’m not sure why this is happening, but I suspect the pattern will break when the next cold front passes next week.

Chambeyronia macrocarpa in the UK?  Impressive.  I would defintely protect at and below 0C though.

So far it has taken a couple of -1C nights here, unharmed. It's still actively growing right now, although I doubt for much longer. I do plan to protect it this winter though and may bring it indoors for Jan/Feb.

A warm week coming up, the yard will need a few drinks over the next couple of days.

42c? Wow! So your weather is like Mexicali, Baja weather. What is your altitude?  I ask because Mexicali is way inland, below sea level and it gets scorching hot.

We are basically at sea level here in Jandakot, a few spots a bit higher or lower but virtually sea level and about 8kms from the Indian Ocean, Jandakot is pretty warm in summer and pretty cool (by Perth standards) in winter. We've recorded 46c here as a summer max but also 0c as a winter minimum at dawn - doesn't happen often but it can happen.

Yeah, Jandakot is way hotter in summer and colder in winter than the coastal suburbs.....

I've spent time in Katherine, the nights can be very unpleasant without an aircon!

Chilly spell finally. Lows from 29F in Tally to 64F in the Keys. 51F at sunrise north of the old Monkey Jungle. 53F at Pahokee! (lip of Lake O). High today only 67F. Sweet!

Gulfstream is interesting to watch so close here and 15 miles out less than 30 miles north at Jupiter Island. Water temperature cooler in the Keys than here. Ocean at PB Inlet in upper 70’s. Much cooler water on Gulf side same latitude.

Enjoy great weather rest of the week (78F/60F) till return of 80’sF Sunday (12/8/19).

Whoah.  @30.5 latitude and you're already seeing freezing weather.

I don't get it.

Stay safe.

Such is life in the Southeast unfortunately :(

Although it is not the norm to be so close to freezing here this early. This year is an anomaly.

You're welcome! I didn't take screenshots of your area and the rest of Florida as there was nothing to see there this time, lol. Bunch of 40's all around.

96-73F and partly cloudy / hazy around Chandler at the moment.  Maybe a shower over the weekend, but looks like we're headed back into a basically dry and mild pattern heading into mid December.  Could be flirting with the mid ( dare i say upper 70s ) around the 15th.
