Finally germinated trachycarpus latisectus

Finally after no signs over the last few months I put my baggie of these guys in my grow dome. Which is set at 85f and sure enough a few days later finally I have my first germinated seed. Hope more to come. So far the only trachys I have germinated have been fortunei so this is big for me. Still no luck with takil or princeps

Nice work!  Your germination station is strikingly similar to mine in the garage.

T. princeps seeds are super-random germinators. Even with over 100 seeds, as I have, they sprout in one's and two's over the space of maybe a year or more. The key is contrasting temperatures. Try taking them out of your grow dome/ germination box overnight and put them back there during day.

Sigh... I can't wait for a basement again! Hopefully next year by this time I'll have a new underground cave. :D

The basement obviously is harder to keep warm. But my room is well insulated and heated. But! I take advantage of the humidity. With all my palms my room sits at 60 percent humidity. Not bad with the furnace on
