Wow , nice palm. How cold hardy it is?

Carambeí, 2nd tableland of the State Paraná , south Brazil.

Alt:1030m. Native palms: Queen, B. eriospatha, B. microspadix, Allagoptera leucocalyx , A.campestris, Geonoma schottiana, Trithrinax acanthocoma. Subtr. climate, some frosty nights. No dry season. August: driest month. Rain:1700mm

 

I am seeking for cold hardy palms!

Thanks for the pics. Nice palm. My L. lanuginosas in 3 gal. pots, look similar, but spines are bigger. Maybe hybrid with saribus or something. I'll take pics and post. I've read this palm is hardy into the mid 20's, which makes it good for central and south Florida, and another good Washingtonia  replacement.

Well, here are the pics I promised of my L. lanuginosa. It looks nothing like the pics posted in this post, as it has L. saribus - looking thorns on the petioles with maroonish coloration. I'm really thinking hybrid with L. saribus red petiole variety. I remember as someone else mentioned that the seeds were a bit larger than saribus. Comments?

Same palm posted above. Notice maroonish petioles and large thorns; possibly something other than the L. lanuginosa I thought it was. Still a beautiful palm though. Comments/opinions.

Looks like Saribus for sure w the Dropy Leaflets, the thorns n color.  Nice looking palm, just Saribus is sooo slow.
