Is U.S Climate Data accurate?

Well, there are a bunch of factors which go into the equation. Generally, a major cities official weather is recorded by its airport.  Well, San Diego and TJ (as examples) have diverse climates all around. 10-18 miles inland are usually 10F+ warmer than beach side temps.

At least in my area, the averages are very close to what other sites report.

Not for mine. I'm 14 miles inland.

I.e.: Lindbergh field's weather report is a complete departure than that of a weather station 14 miles inland.

It's usually cool and cloudy beachside....

I feel like ours is OK on accuracy, although its a little cooler at BWI than some areas its still close enough to be a good representation of the area. As for that site from my limited use of it it seems pretty OK and close enough albeit I have seen it a hair lower than other sites.
