Just a few pics from around the yard today

Hey all. Just thought I’d post some pics from around the yard since I haven’t posted much here lately. Had a rough year last year. I gave most of the palms a heavy hurricane cut before Irma came through since it was supposed to make landfall here as a cat 4 which was followed by a nasty winter with at least one night down to 27F or 26F as seen on nearby weather stations and a few others below 32F along with a week of 50F rain... So I actually lost 3 smaller foxtails in the ground with my 3 larger ones seemingly pulling through. Interestingly the coconut made it through. Has been really interesting to see what made it around here. Small foxtails are wimps, Adonidia did better for example.

@ruskinPalms Great palms, super green grass, awesome landscaping.  Nice work!

Lost an archontophoenix alexandrae over here to a secondary fungal infection after the freeze.  One night down to 28F for ~10-12 hrs damaged some stuff, but the archie was the only fatality.

Just for giggles I’ll see if I have any data left on this post and try to post a rain pic. This is the second storm like this today.

Going to try to post some 1 year growth updates. I think I got most of them in there that I took pics of last year at this time.

As you can see, a couple of landscape beds expanded and there are a few new additions. Notably, I finally planted my bottle palm in the ground that has been in a pot for probably 8 years. Very pot bound but it seems happy enough in the ground so far. Also, got rid of a struggling orange tree and put a Roystonea regia in its place. There is a new spindle palm hidden in there somewhere and a really small Thrinax radiata is hidden behind the bottle palm. May see it in 5 years or so lol. The clumping Dypsis by my AC units which I think is cabadae has only been doing so so. Slow and a couple of the stems got bud rot in the middle of July and had spear pull. Oh well. It may meet the shovel next year as that is a really nice micro climate there. Could put another coconut there or something.

What’s the name of that palm? I have one but no idea what it is.

Seems pretty easy to look after though.  No insects or fungus attacks.

Thank you all!

Yes, the D. lutescens and Bismarkia nobilis grow well here. Just hoping lethal bronzing stays away from my Bizzies...

Guess it is time for another 1 year update. Better do it before these hurricanes start tearing stuff up lol. I tried to get the as close to the same angles as possible. Sorry the lighting is not great on some. These pics all taken today throughout the morning.

Closer shot of the Adonidia clump in the middle of the yard. Fast growers for sure.

Time for a yearly update again. Again, lighting is not great, lots of shifting rain clouds this time of year. Anyway, I tried to capture mostly the same angles and the same palms.
