Some shots of the brand spankin new roof garden in San Francisco. PWP Landscape Architecture designed the landscape with the palm selection help of Jason Dewees, I believe. It is an amazing space with a wide variety of plants from around the world. It is a must see if you visit San Francisco!

Very cool! I remember seeing the prototypes for the new transbay terminal and thinking how neat it was they were incorporating so many palms. Glad to see they stuck with that plan.

If high speed rail is ever complete in my lifetime, this terminal will be a 30 minute ride from Fresno :P

J., I have a red-colored bridge I wanna sell to ya! It is very close to where the high speed rail will terminate.

Some background on the plant and tree installations at this park: https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Transbay-Transit-Center-rooftop-turning-into-11066843.php

Meine Frau und I go there at least twice a year, we have not seen it. Just what I have posted in other threads regarding palms in S.F.

I generally do not like seeing palms (or any trees for that matter) growing on top of buildings. To me, it sends the message that the developer is trying too hard. BUT, this roof top garden is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

The weight of lies will bring you down / And follow you to every town / Cause nothin happens here

That doesn't happen there / So when you run make sure you run / To something and not away from

Cause lies don't need an aero plane / To chase you anywhere

I personally appreciate palms growing anywhere whether rooftop, atrium, hillsides, flatlands, you name it. I agree that this new San Francisco landscape is fantastic. I didn't see any Ceroxylon. Anybody know if that genus was included in the otherwise excellent mix?

I was thinking the same about the lack of ceroxylon.

My assumption is that Jason could not obtain large plants of Ceroxylon.
