I like it too! Amazing. I had seedlings until "The Night of Horror and Rat Infamy" (the night I lost over 1000 Ceroxylon seedlings at once).

 

Are the trunks always black on this species? This is a detail I don't recall having ever heard before.

The handful that I have seen had green trunks if memory serves.

I remember that Ben. That's why all my ceroxylons and hard to get seedlings are in vermin proof cages now.

All the C. vogelianum trunks I have seen in Northern California have green-grey trunks.
