Any hope for this pindo palm?

I got two pindo palms for Christmas. One seems to be doing ok. This one didn’t transplant so good. Any chance that it comes back? Was it a mistake to cut off the dead foliage? Thanks in advance. Wish I have gotten it from Texas Cold Hardy Palms. The palms I got from there  never even showed signs of stress!

I hate to tell you but that looks no Bueno. If it were larger there would be a chance but I haven't had luck at butia that size coming back.  We have Silver Odorata that size in stock.  It is from the batch that survived 16F last year and are about as cold tolerant as any butia you will find.  3/4 of their siblings were killed during that cold spell.

i think its dead, .  i did have one come back from this sort of thing  but it took 4 years to get 3 deformed leaves and probably wont look good for another few years, mine was bigger also, faster to start again, even if you got a much smaller plant..

try sawing the top off and keep going  until you find something that looks alive if there is anything
