Palms at the office

Here's a photo of the two clumps of palms I have at my work area. Ye old Chamaedorea seifrizii, in good condition. I like 'em so I thought I'd show 'em.

Wal,

I've got a 3 gallon Kentia next to my desk.  As it good as it does indoors, it needs a good rinsing off every few months.

Wal!

Your palms inside rock.

An office is almost always better than a house for plants, becauce the lighting is better.

Except for my offices in the Dark Tower, wanna cry, mommy.

No flourescents where you need them, the plants all dies, we have this death camp torture plant service come in the boss REFUSES TO INTALL FLOURESCENT LIGHTS.

Sorry, I just get that way.  Sob.

Those are beautiful Wal.  I assume they're yours personally and you brought them in?

I have a table top Chamaedorea cataractum and used to have a one leaf C. renda (I plead insanity). For a few weeks continued to grow then it stalled. Then they readjusted the thermostat like 5 degrees down, and it finally croaked. I replaced with a Trachycarpus nanus. Both are doing "ok".

That's a negatory, they are provided by the plant company hired by my employer. They usually slip in some bigger plants for those corner spots down hallways. No one was watching one day, so I snuck around the place, found these two beauties and escaped with them back to my work area. Hee hee, can't catch me. People around the joint know I'm a palm fanatic so they don't mind, they expect something like that from me to be truthful. Besides, I look after them better than the plant hire firm.

I am glad u showed the pics in the office. I am trying to promote plants in the office here @ work.  I have mine scattered throughout the office and like you, EVERYONE knows I am the palm fanatic.  Old pots in the maintenance garage, potting soil, plastic peanuts!  I am always "re-arranging" my office with palms and orchids.  I have even sent an email out about what plants clean the air and how they actually assist with a low stress environment ya know with all the tropical foliage hanging in your face.  I think every office should have a kentia or adonidia palm in it!

Doink!

How about it, newbies?

Bet you got some palms in your offices -- or have a tale of a battle to get and/or keep them?
