Now I am often asked,  "What do you do with all of your spare time, now that you are retired?"   I must correct their incorrect assumption. "What spare time?"

But I can devote more of my limited time to spend doing things that I enjoy. Forums are one of them.

When talking to a group of friends the other day, some were surprised that I was anxious to go home and 'check my forums'.

I explained that in reading the posts of my 'online friends', I felt as close to some of them as I did,

sitting there eating and drinking and joking but mainly listening to, the people that I was with.

Mostly I can't help or add value on here, so I don't post much, but I enjoy reading the considered and well expressed replies by more experienced or educated people.

So I would like to tell you now in person, Thank you to all of the people on, (where am I now, not Morris Dancing, no, Funny cats, no) Palmtalk for the fun that you have given me.

I admire different Palmtalkers for different reasons, not all of you of course, only about 50 or 60 of you. You know who you are, if you display any of these qualities, you are on my list.

For either your, help, intelligence, knowledge, wit, experience, empathy, time and effort, generosity or clever signature.

And those few people who humble the majority with their incredibly clear pictures.

Again thanks people and Happy new year.

Congrads Steve on your new chapter in life. I had to speak up being a new "retiree" myself. Spare time? Urban myth! I'm working more hours at the nursery than I was at my old job!

Without admin pressure and all the BS that accompanies it life is grand once again. Raise a toast to yourself, you've earned it.

Someone call BS?

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!
