Those taro fields are largely part of a National Wildlife Refuge.  Bird haven!

Regrettably, one of the few easy places to see native Pritchardia is some planted ones at a parking lot for Waimea Canyon.  The chickens keep them fertilized.

Wow.  Fantastic.   I did the same exact trip and roadside stops some years ago.  There are no people in these photos which make them even more fantastic.   Please do post more.  The photographer has done an excellent job of capturing pure Hawaii.   I can hear Elvis singing Blue Hawaii now....

Bob, We're using an Olympus 8 MP camera- It's an SLR. I'd go for the Cannon myself, but.........

Great shots of my hometown, well almost. I was born on Oahu but we moved to Princeville when I was a baby and I lived there till' I was 5 then we moved back to Oahu. post 35 looks like an Attalea species.
