The good news is I can still capture the new leaf from the roof, the bad news is it's only 15' (4.5m) from the house. Well, neither the house or the 

palm can't be moved so it's going to work no matter what. 

It throws only two leaves a year, but looking at the mass of each one, that's a heck of a lot of work. Planted from a 5 gallon back in mid 2008 it continues to slowly grow larger and larger and I imagine it may start to trunk in a couple more years.

Here's my future grove of three, from seed I planted in October of 2015.

No I have not thrown away the ones that have not (yet) germinated. The reddish leaf was prettier a few days ago.

As always yours are an inspiration Tim! Both to even attempt to grow palms and place them as beautifully as you do and also to live long enough to see mine that size!

Exquisite Tim!! 

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

Mahalo for the comments. It's an amazing palm and those fronds are an easy 20' long at this point in it's life. 

It's good to know that the ones here in Hawaii are doing well considering their vulnerability in habitat. These are truly majestic palms.

Your babies look healthy Cindy, good luck with them.

Wow, Tim, I didn't even see Bob in the first photo -- human scale really shows how impressive this palm is.  Long live the Lemurs!

Nice photos Tim! That's turning into  a real monster...looks about the same size as mine when we dug it up, but only half the age

Now I am down to  a single seedling the same size as Cindy's!
