specimen tahina spectabilis finaly gets planted out (for Cali standards)

I finally got around to planting out this 6' tall Tahina a couple weeks ago. From what I understand and have been told this could be the largest one in California?????

It was in a big A#$ tub and took four of us to get it situated in the ground. It took me over 6 months of hemming and hawing over which spot to plant it in. After much careful consideration I finally felt it was time to set this free.

Thank again Adam (akamu on PT) Dennis W and Luise for your help planting this guy.

finally I excited to see this magnificent beauty in its new home. :)

Palms this size are so much heavier than they look, hernia inducing, but well worth the effort.

That's a nice, well grown specimen finding home in a great spot. Kudos!

Josh, that's some serious $$$$ in the hole. It's a very nice looking, well grown palm. Kudos to whoever grew it. These now have become very rare to find as small specimens to buy. I have two plants in the yard that are doing beyond well. It's one of my most talked about species on the property.

Hi Jeff, how about photographs ?  please & thanks !

This is the larger of the two plants Jeff mentioned above. These photos were taken during the 'Ganza Friday post-tour, about a month ago.

- It has gotten too large to photograph without a really wide angle lens. IPS President Ray Hernandez was part of the tour, walking in front of it.

- A side shot. It was near the end of the tour, as it was getting real dark.
