Yeah, they are fine. Some of the older fronds collapsed from the ice build up, but the male has 6 flowers spathes pushing out.

It's a privacy fence.  Nothing but water and pavers on the other side   Probably a little close for comfort until it hits 6 feet, but plenty of head room after that.

@mthteh1916 All phoenix sp. are hard to trim because of the spines.  I don't do it without glasses on.

Yes, and this is true for other clustering dioecious palms such as Chamaedorea and Chamaerops.
