I am being offered a cordyline australis, which is 8 feet tall. for 175 dollars.

Seems kind of expensive to me... What think you? Should I buy it? or wait for a better price?

There are 2 at that price and a bigger one at 250 dollars

That is outrageous price!!!! One gallons are $10-$15 dollars at most nursery. A 5 gallon large one would be more like $40-$50. But the most important things is cordylines do not like to be dug up and replanted they have several long tap roots and hate being disturb. Even if all ready in a pot, that price is unbelievable to much!

Like Pip said they are fast growers so get a smaller less expensive one.

That was my take as well and why I haven't purchased it.

Thanks

Last week was the Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE) in Ft. Lauderdale. Here are 2 really cool Dracaena cultivars new to the Florida trade that really stood out.

Dracaena marginata 'Ray of Sunshine'- this is the first D. marginata I have seen with yellow banding, its really striking. This won the "Most Unusual Plant Specimen" award at TPIE.
