Here is mine.  Obtained it in October of 2016 from Patric and it was just barely putting out its first pinnate leaf then.  Has exploded with growth this summer.

Whoa! Very nice looking palm. Did you plant it among pines for canopy?

It is planted among pines because I have little choice where I am.  Most of my lot is loblolly pine forest. The canopy will likely help in the winter, though I assume some additional protection will be needed for this guy.

This is an exciting hybrid ... will be interesting to see if the very flat plane of the leaflets carries through.

One day I hope to see what the flowers actually look like on this hybrid.  Will it be more like an Allagoptera or more like a butia?

How did yours handle your cold snap last year? I would think this would be a pretty marginal palm for you. No?

Well, the plants sure look like Butia.  I'm not really jazzed by this cross; keeping mine in a pot for a while to see if it gets more attractive.

well said.

Not looking like a good cross between the two. I have 2 good size ones and I don't think they will make it into the garden. looks more like a stretched out Butia to me.

I covered it with a moving blanket. It did not suffer.

Very nice! And it looks like your Bismarckia is really taking off too! Is that your Tabebuia (Handroanthus) umbellata among your agaves?

Mine's in full, hot sun and put on a good 6 feet of pencil-thin trunk this summer. If we're lucky we both might see some flowers next year...?

Yes, also a very nice Agave! Is this A. parryi var. truncata from Huntington?

Yes, this is truncata. Quite possibly one of my favorite agave for its color and perfect symmetry. It also forms beautiful colonies over time. My others being the ones in the victoria-reginae/nickelseii complex.

FastForward a year - it blends into the grasses with how thin the leaflets are

I ended up giving mine away.  Just looks like a wispy Butia and I don't have room in my yard for that.

Hot and dry in the summer, cold with light frost in the winter. Halfway between the desert and ocean

See now that looks a lot like a what was supposed to be a BxBjc I purchased from Patric. I'm thinking mine might not be a BxPJc and perhaps this cross....

This Palm is starting to develop some grace. It still looks like Butia, but it’s glossy green, petite and graceful. There are worse palms to grow.

Who knows. It's an F1. It was untouched by 20F this year.

That's pretty impressive I really think allogoptera should be planted where ever hardy palms are needed. My Allagoptera survived palmageddon with only frost cloth. All 5 spear pulled but 3 came back with little help.
