Thanks Len, your welcome to press Like :)  Its a stretched Calytrocalyx pachystachys ( Bedang Dawn Noda) Itrailel some a few yrs ago and they breezed through winter , but our now dog was a pup and dug the triple up hiding bones, I didnt see them till they where "toss" material, so Mark sent some more down..

i cant believe your location is in sub tropics

Ahamed, we have a little elevation and the whole property is undulating and get great sunlight, our neighbours down the bottom cant even grow Banana;s as they get heavy frost but they are also "very open" ( no trees for protection)

Being in the Sthn hemisphere and  facing Nth/East and lots of undulation plus a 85 mtr long and very deep dam/pong ( very close to the house garden) helps immensely.

Plus    ,I must admit, Im a bit of a Green Thumb  :floor:    Pete

The Garden of Lights at the little Heathcote Botanical Gardens in Fort Pierce, Florida.  A Chambeyronia macrocarpa (flamethrower) palm was lighted with a red spotlight, and a bromeliad and sweet potato tree was set up by the patio.

Wow Pete. That last shot of your Moratia is crazy. Can't believe the internode color too.

Also you gave me a great idea on how to plant my Roberto Menescal outside. Put it on one of my low hanging Plumeria limbs.

Some more Christmas color. One benefit of the cooler weather is that it really brings out the color on many of the palms and plants in my garden.

I dont think it will get published Len :) Socks, Clothe, your wifes pantyhose etc are great  to tie broms tight and it gives the base good material to send out roots, if it wobbles it wont take off,on boxing day 2morrow retie it with above.

Thanks for the compliment Josh  :greenthumb:   Josh, the three Cypho's are the same age ( 24 yrs min, but the seed was wild collected, Jeff Ms was too but his seedlings will grow at a faster rate than his Mother plant if you grabbed any) , its taking off now since i added a chunks of concrete beside it, if it was planted beside the concrete  slab like the  Large Cypho macrostachya it would be larger ( which gets more sun as well) , but I cant complain as when I 1st posted the large macro 5 yrs ago it hadnt even started trunking, now it has 8 rings and a bulbous base . The Moratia/Cypho cerifera is getting  a fat base and has 2 rings so she's on her way. I will take a shot of it when Shakira gets here today to give scale..     Pete

Josh, till i get the shots, theres a few from a few yrs ago on Palmpedia, look @ the difference of the large Macrostachya in that section :o

Josh, heres pics you wanted, mainly  of Macrostachya though sorry  to show how much Larger it is by getting more light, and  close to the c/crete slab.  I culled some tree's n Palms to let in more sunlight to make them happier growers :)   Pete

I just looked this palm up on Palmpedia and saw the older photos of this same palm Pete.  Looks like about 7 new rings exposed on the trunk since the shot from 5/2011 on Palmpedia.  It looks beautiful, but slow even in your climate.
