I wouldn't normally post anything on weather conditions like La Nina and El Nino since I just  know the very basics of it, but the picture that the AP has included in this article should make you chuckle a bit.

Well I just might have a fighting chance my coconut palms will make it through into spring.

 

5 year high 42.2C/108F (07/06/2018)--5 year low 4.6C/40.3F (1/19/2023)--Lowest recent/current winter: 4.6C/40.3F (1/19/2023)

Only one model indicates La Niña towards the end of this year, the rest are still going with neutral. But it's on the La Niña side of neutral. The trade winds are expected to weaken so it's more likely sea surface temperatures in the central Pacific will stay at neutral for the time being.
