Super Dypsis decipiens

Some of the guys at the sale last weekend wanted me to post a picture of this Dypsis decipiens.  The picture doesn't give it justice.  It is bright red through out the palm.

What an outstanding D. decipiens!  I hope it keeps it's color.

Now, this isn't the same thing that Ron Lawyer is selling as 'Super Decipiens' is it?   What's this one called....'Super Dooper Decipens w/ cherries on top'?

For the record! All D.decipens grown in a greenhouse will show some degree of color. So will a number of different Dypsis. The ones Mardy and I have show color as more adult palms. Looks like the Ha, Ha, are on you!

I agree Jeff, it's a beaut, that's all that counts.  It's not about who's got the most or the rarest, it's what makes you happy and pleases you to add beauty to your garden.  I think Ron's just teasing you because he thinks he's got something more 'super' specialer.  Come on Ron,  enough teasing....set aside a couple of minutes and learn how to post a pic.  We'd love to see all the wonderful palms you're hording! :D

  • 12 years later...

Here’s a photo of mine (California garden) after about 10 years. Still showing some color and split into a double early on in its life. Probably about 10-12’ tall. Planted as a 5 gallon in 2010.
