First one is Crinum asiaticum, one of the Reddish ones, perhaps Queen Emma( this name stands out in my mind and it sounds right)

The Tree is Clusia rosea.

Zac

Oh, and great shots, especially the Northern Cardinal. That was kind of odd to see one of my native songbirds there.

Nice photos dave.  Those Pritchardias are pretty nice and to me it can be hard to tell some apart.  The most common ones that I saw was P pacifica and P thurstonii.  The P thurstonii is the easiest to tell when there are in inflorescense.  On thurstonii the flowers extend beyond the fronds.

#7 is probably thurstonii and

#4 could be P pacifica.

#12 and #19, #20 look like Ptychosperma Macarthurii

Couldn't tell what #6 was without at least a photo of more of the palm.

lots of D lutescens in there too.

Zach

I thougt it was strange the first time that I went to Hawaii and saw cardinals there but from what I have been told they are pretty common.  Everytime I been there, we have seen a number of them.  Still very beautiful birds

Zac,.... thanks for the ids... looks like those two might grow around here...

Don.. thanks. There were a lot of D. Lutescens all over the place. I think they were the 2nd most common palm I saw, with Cocos Nucifera being the most common of course.

Kris... thanks! It's hard to take a bad pic in such a beautiful place!

Cabadae! thanks!

BGL... it was a great week- thanks. And you're right.. there were lots of cardinals around.... they contrasted with the greenery nicely.

The Ravenala looks like a ferris wheel looming over the condo. Also loved the D cabadae. All these Kona photos are making me want to plan my own trip out there.

Nice photos. Looks like it was a great trip. I especially like the photos with the ominous storm clouds in the background. For some reason storm/palm photos always catch my eye.
