Incredible pictures Pando!

It was an epic experience in the conservatory. They had a rain machine installed that was going off when we were inside......so cool!

Pando, the red flower is possibly Etlingera elatior, the red torch ginger.

Thanks for posting all these nice photos !

What, Bill's not into palms any longer?... :mrlooney:

Adam - great pics!!!

Still into palms, but I knew others could provide far better pics than I could manage on my phone. I'll post a few botanical types soon.. GREAT stuff from you and Adam!

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

I'd like to ID these two.

Is the fan leaf palm Mauritia flexuosa?

What about the fish tail leafed slender palm in the foreground?

Thanks

Bummed I missed this meeting.  Some day my kids will grow up and I'll actually get my weekends back to do things that I want to do B)

Thanks for sharing all the great pics.  Did anyone get pics of Loran's cycad collection now that it has been mostly installed at the Huntington?

Wow, things have really grown in the glasshouse.  Fantastic photography, Pando!  I like the finely detailed closeups.

I couldn't find the juicy outdoor stuff as I just wanted to cover as much as I could before I got kicked out. In hindsight I spent too much time in the Japanese garden, which is a beautiful setting - I'll post a few pics later...

Is that you Pando?

Hahaha.... nope :)

I'm incognito. Actually there is only one (1) picture of me on the internets. And only one other Palmtalker knows where it's at.
