Where can I find palms near Greenville, S.C? I've called around local nurseries and nobody has anything except Trachycarpus. I can't even find Butia or Sabal minors at local big box stores!

thanks.

Hopefully Laaz (Todd) logs on so he can get you pointed in the right direction.

Home Depot has butia, windmill, needle, Mediterranean fan, Washingtonias....

lowes occasionally has some of these mentioned above but not often at all.

those I found at andersons Home Depot, I don't know about greenvilles.

And if looking for mature palms then there's a guy selling off the 85 before the airport exit I think. Look him up on google, search "Blythewood palms"

Keep in mind the more east you look, the more palms and palm nurseries.

Thank you so much, I'll have to go by Anderson to pick up a few Butias since no one around here (including hd) has them.

No luck! No palms anywhere except ones I don't want or already have. Looks like I'm going to have to visit my grandma in Myrtle Beach.

I live in York SC, and i advise to head south to Columbia.  You can find all types of palms down there without going to the beach.  weather in columbia isn't much different than our weather in Piedmont region but i find palms look healthier since it is closer to their natural environment/weather than northern SC.  I bought several palms at crabtree nursery in columbia.  Decently cheap compared to other nurseries.  Huge selection as well.

As for Sabals, they will live up here but i dont think they look as nice compared to southern areas of SC.

I've never been, but I've heard good things about Crabtree nursery. If you want a good selection of different palms and subtropicals, I'd head to Gayland Penny's house/nursery just outside of Columbia in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. http://www.pennyspalms.com/index.html

Thanks for tips guys, I'll have to go down there sometime soon because I'm itching to get my hands on some nice Butias. I found some on Craigslist not far from me but they're too big  to move!

I just got a tip that two Butias are at a Home Depot nearby! I will go tomorrow and try to get them. Thanks everyone for the replies. I definitely need to check out all of the nurseries you guys shared with me.
