Cold or rain, sometimes it is just the tip of the dip

All along the Northern Gulf Coast what you get depends on the tip of the dip.    Taking vacation tomorrow, because at the end of the week I will be in the tip of the dip rain wise.

The local forecast for Houston has the heaviest rain hitting Wed. morning am rush-hour. I hate that but it has been on the dry side. I can see the flooded cars that are going to be on the news already.

Looking a lot better for me, a little better for you, but look at the Texas/Louisiana border.  12 inches, wow.

Here is another forecast from "The Weather Channel" that has as much as 12-18 inches falling in parts of Louisiana Texas and Arkansas. It is beginning to look like a frog strangler.

map_specnewsdct-83_ltst_4namus_enus_650x

Some of that area is hilly and I would not want to be living at the bottom of the hills after 18 inches of rain. 18 inches is about 1/3 of the annual rainfall for much of that area. I can hardly wait till late summer when the big tropical rains hit.

Maybe it is time to enlarge the culverts once again?
