I have never heard of this hybrid existing.

Since we know these hybrids exist: Jubaea X Butia (JxB)

                                            Jubaea X Syagrus

                                            Butia X Jubaea

                                            Butia X Parajubaea (BxPj)

                                            Butia X Syagrus

You've got to wonder if you can cross JxB with BxPj to produce something close to JxPj (albeit half Butia).

Wow Ben  in Norcal, a B x sunkha, it's wonderful ! There is not in patric's list !!!

he has others hybrids in production?

Dis you ask him if he has a jubaea x parajubaea???

Picked up my B x P sunkha today - just a liner seedling though, not much to look at.

I did ask Patric if he has ever done a Jubaea x Parajubaea, and he said NO.  It has not been possible/they have never been viable.  He mentioned he thinks he has done the reverse (Parajubaea x Jubaea) - but he is growing the seedlings out to make sure they are what he thinks.

I own 2. In this thread (here) you can read how enthusiastic I am about this hybrid.

To get back on topic, I wonder if the first posting in this topic is a truthful statement of the hybrids in question (JxPj or PjxJ)?

Hi guys - if these hybrids exist, I'd like to know who made them.  Patric has said JxP has not been possible, and while he believes he has done PxJ, he has not yet released any.  So neither of these hybrids have come out from Patric as yet.

Hi 86°, Lo 56°

I can't really help you Tom, but what I wrote above is what Patric told me last week.  But maybe he forgot or just thinks they didn't take?

Regardless of whether the hybrids took or not, why won't Josh post images here for us to decide for ourselves?

Tom, you are like a dog with a bone!

I didn't take a pic of the B. paraguayensis x Parajubaea while I was there.  You are closer to Josh than me - go take a pic!

I'm sure Josh appreciates your defense. The Butia paraguayensis hybrid is not even mentioned in this thread. Why won't he answer my questions in this thread or in this one?

In a PM from Patric(k) Schafer he claims he gave a couple PJCXJUB to people in San Francisco and sold some to some people in the EU (he didn't say who, where or when). He said it was within the last 3 years.

I'd love to see those!  I wonder if they were, in fact, hybrids.

In the PM from Patric(k), I asked if he had updated his list. He hasn't updated it since March 23, 2015. Maybe if you ask him about the details of his sale to some people in the EU, you'll have better luck than me.

To the best of my knowledge Patric(k) has no user account on this forum, and I've never seen any evidence of him on any other discussion (chat) boards.

Good luck using e-mail
