just went outside to pick up one of my potted 5g super silvers that was lying on its side, blown over by the wind. this has been a very poor  2 month stretch for palming in San Diego...

That was a rough afternoon and evening here in Southern California with the winds.  We don't often see wind that strong.  Amazing how quickly it has dropped off as the sun has risen though.  Nothing uprooted in my garden, but very sad to see the tree which killed a woman in a driving vehicle down in Pacific Beach (San Diego) yesterday afternoon.  Not sure what kind of tree it was, but it was 6' in diameter and didn't appear to be a Eucalyptus from the photo I saw.

We were in the direct shot last night on the NW side of the hill wind, rain and hail it was wild!   Not much damage except my neighbors Meleluca dropped a big branch on my newly planted Sabal mauritiiformis.  It should survive but the opening frond was shredded.

Thought they said it was an oak tree

Caught an LA Times article on your weather. Pretty wild and was wondering how all you guys were fairing. Some of the reported gusts were crazy.

We had similar conditions up here in the Bay area although I don't think gusts were as strong. Hail, wind, rain though depending where you were. Saw tv reports on a few downed trees and now on tonight's news the story of a man who was in a park in San Jose being killed by a falling tree. That just happened this afternoon so wondering if the tree was damaged last night possibly. Where we're at we had gusty winds last night, a brief drenching of strong rain, but it moved out and just wind off and on. Still some gusts today. Cold as anything though. Man a reminder it's still winter. Looks like a cold week until the weekend.
