Jeff Searle 1,060 Report post Posted December 31, 2015 Wow, were talking old time Florida here! Went to Cypress gardens as a kid once when they used to have the famous water skiers. Your now down in KW? There's some nice gardens there to visit if you have time. Go by the Audubon House, Tim here from PT has planted some really cool palms and plants there and would be more than happy to show you around if your still there. Thanks for the pictures. Moose 1,465 Report post Posted December 31, 2015 Audubon House is must see if you are visiting Key West. Rare palms, rare crotons and exotic tropicals. Isn't the old Cyprus Garden now Lego Land ?
bubba 1,217 Report post Posted January 1, 2016 Where are those pretty girls water skiing? Cypress Gardens was huge in Florida/Winter Haven before Disney. Always 100 F. plus. Reminds me of the great days of the Old Florida Parks like Weeki Wachee Springs and the underwater mermaids. Love that Hemingway "To Have and Have Not" Keys to Habana. Ernest and Johnny Rybo were tight (See Pillar). Known to exchange "a little light tackle treatise".

TexasColdHardyPalms 3,034 Report post Posted February 26, 2017 I'm surprised that a banyan could grow to such size in the Orlando area. They must be a little hardier than I had thought.
