I've got a small Lutey I picked up at Lowe's last year (at least that's what it says on the label, I'm dubious).  But I keep seeing all these fabulous species you southern-types are flaunting and I'm jealous.

What would be some unique and/or beautiful examples of the Dypsis clan that would look good in an indoor setting.  Adult height can be more than 8 feet if it's a slow grower, I can always donate to one of the indoor gardens in 5 or 10 years.

For that matter, what funky-cool indoor palms of any genus would you suggest to catch the eye?

Dypsis is a very large genus so there should be lots that do good indoors. I’ve had success with D. baronii and D. onilahensis. Don’t over look the shade loving chamaedorea too.

I've had good luck with various Caryota sp. Indoors. ...as long as you give them an outdoor break during summer months.

Hmm.

Dypsis is SO diverse! Lutes will grow inside, though they're better in light outside. I wouldn't be afraid to try a leptocheilos, or lastelliana, either.

I have a variety od Dypis that I bought mostly from Josh and are over wintering great indoors not to mention still actively pushing new spears. They (at least ones I have) don't seem to miss a beat.
