awesome Pal

I had a look at your Flicker...great photos ,,,, It seems you are into Palms for years :)

How do you get the seeds ? for example for Lytocaryum?

I am "growing" palms since the late 1950s. My first one was also a Ph. dactylifera, of course. – Since 2002 I purchase my Lyto seeds from RPS (the latest L. insigne 2014, L. weddell. 2013).

No, I regret now that I didn’t. My oldest photos of my self-grown palms are from 1971. – Here an example of the same Archontophoenix cunninghamiana with photos of 1982, 1989, and 2012:

Thanks for the photo...that would be interesting to know how many different kind of palms you have ? I assume most should be in containers as you are in Germany

I posted a couple of photos on my "Before & After" thread: http://www.palmtalk.org/forum/index.php?/topic/46393-»before-after«-pix-of-potted-palms/

Since I had moved in 2008 I gave away almost all my palms (some 100s) to a zoological garden, a botanical garden, and private persons. At present I own only a handful Lytos (8 pots L. weddell. and now only 6 L. insigne, as I gave away just 4 as "freebies"), two pots with seed-grown Rhapis (humilis and micrantha, which were infected in 2008 by mealy bugs), and a bonsai (dwarf) Chamaerops (*1986). – Besides I had planted in ground two Trachy. wagner. in Heidelberg (not that in Victoria!).
